CIOR

By William da Costa

Even though life was not an inexorable tragedy, this "story" loud and nonsense to which I alluded Shakespeare, the thought of Cioran not lose her figure, we would still have his dilettantism, passion and the way of his writing. Maybe that's why also reconciles Cioran optimistic.
But it is.
Cioran, who particularly liked the "cases", he was the same paradigm 'case' renegade philosopher logos and any subterfuge academic reactionary countercurrent, fine bitter and undisguised scorn, tireless reader who angers you bookish ... Cioran is an "experience", a "circumstance" (Ortega no: no salvageable), lover of music and ... cycling. He pretended to work on a thesis as he toured France by bicycle. He admitted that the two passions of his life had been reading and cycling.
Nothing purifies both the rigors of thought as a bike ride: an effort to reduce to another. Cioran, whom the bravery of lucidity made him sweat on the bike found a patch to the gall. After reading his books to experience what a mountain top pedaling: punished but strengthened by the gesture ... After some of his aphorisms, one could claim, with Luther: "This is madness beyond all measure," or even enter the "Murderers!" Octave Lapize issued on the legendary Col d 'Aubisque, July 21 1910. But above all his work impelled to roar, with Miguel Indurain, "Je suis allé très loin dans la douleur ."
How easy and what is spurious label Cioran. And summon him to say nothing, whatever the cause. Was nihilist? Yes but not exactly. A denier with lashes affirmative ("My strength is not having found the answer to anything, '" he said, but given the embarrassment of insomnia most certain intuitions ...). "We dominated the desperation? No doubt, by dint of cyclothymia, manic-depressive psychosis, confessed descent organic activity. And yet, "although I have a design life of bleak, I've always had great passion for life." And what about the emptiness? Prince Is Cioran vacuo thinking?
Everything is so unreal and empty that patent, is not worth it (and there is no need to) try to persuade anyone of this, he says. His concept of emptiness does not, however, that of Nagarjuna, Madhyamaka school for which pleaded inclined. Cioran subscribe with school the middle way , skepticism with respect to the relativity of the general views and the illusion of knowledge, should the lack of content the world in its empty . But, after all, advocated by Nāgārjuna emptiness follows a purpose: the awakening, nirvana, while Cioran get no object or purpose, just for revocation and the desert . And even the Indian plan to overcome the self indicates analogy with Cioran. So n or imagined in the state of ineffable Buddha released.
Well, Cioran was born a hundred years ago (April 8, 1911). His father, Orthodox priest, he should not upset little his first book (written in Romanian, in the year 1933), tops in despair , iconoclastic and incendiary text, a compendium of the obsessions that dominate life and work of the author. Another of his books Romanian Of tears and saints , shows the passion of a mystic in a world without God, "absolutely in a skeptical soul."
Reading Cioran is hardly a leniency. The extraordinary and (seemingly) paradoxical is that a script like yours, vital and literary sulphurous, coadyuda the astringency of the wounds. That is something. And as the case is really a lot. In addition, we have no choice of style, often imitated but always unique. If, as he preached to Bach, "his work is generating divinity ', his is the work of a stylist thought, of reflection on the essentials, on the issues that inherently affect us (like it or not, whether we know or not) at all.
Read his books, and seek catharsis or inspiration in them, shining poetry or philosophical and psychological penetration. It was a wise old master of prose.
may be useful to prevent, in short, that does not get rid of his free and lucid.
